ALGEMENE BESCHRIJVING
Schitterend kasteel met magnifieke toren gebouwd naar het architectonische model van Palazzo Vecchio te Florence. De oorspronkelijke structuur van het kasteel dateert uit de 12de eeuw maar rond de 16de eeuw heeft het kasteel een belangrijke restauratie ondergaan in opdracht van de adellijke familie Acciaioli.
Het kasteel is heden bezit van de familie Posarelli en ligt op een groot terrein met wijn- en olijfboomgaarden en wordt omringd door het prachtige Toscaanse landschap.
“Montegufoni Classic” is een selectie van historische en fascinerende appartementen: sommige zijn ingericht met antieke meubels en anderen gedecoreerd met prachtige en waardevolle fresco’s, alle bieden de mogelijkheid om een unieke en onvergetelijke vakantie door te brengen in een van de meest fascinerende en antieke kastelen in de Chianti.
Afstanden: Montagnana V.P. met kruideniers 1 km, Montespertoli met allerlei winkels ong. 5 km, Florence 20 km, Pisa ong. 70 km.
Ter beschikking van de gasten: groot terrasvormig park met tuinmeubilair en tafeltennis, prachtige Italiaanse tuinen uit de 18de eeuw met citroenbomen en gracieus zwembad (12 x 6 m – open van 01/04 tot 31/10).
Telefoon beschikbaar op de binnenplaats van het kasteel (telefoonkaarten); de receptie is geopend van 8.30 tot 12.30 uur en van 14.30 tot 18.30 uur.
Het complex beschikt over een goed restaurant waar typisch Toscaanse gerechten opgediend worden (van april tot oktober elke avond geopend behalve woensdag).
Extra faciliteiten: hulp in de huishouding beschikbaar tegen een toeslag van € 12,- / per uur (betaling ter plaatse).
Op aanvraag is het mogelijk een babybedje te huren tegen € 52,- per week en een extra bed tegen € 77,- / per week, betaling ter plaatse.

On the first morning the Tuscan sunrise streamed into our room and chided us to awake and take in the magnificient view - it was breathtaking! The rolling hills around the Castle Montegufoni over the course of the week changed glorious autumn colours. Our room, was perfectly comfortable - so much so we almost forgot to leave.
The Castle location enabled very easy jaunts around the Chianti countryside (use a GPS!!)
The staff were extremely helpful and very friendly.

La residenza "bastione" si è rivelata un luogo affascinate e suggestivo ove tornare la sera dopo aver viaggiato durante il giorno per la magnifica Toscana. Splendido il contesto del castello, ottima l'organizzazione.

| Great place. Very central to all of Tuscany sites. Will stay there again. Internet was free and fast. Wish the property or booking manager would have highlighted the fact that you should buy your own food for breakfast 'right away'. Between early closing and days off, places to buy things late in the day get few and far between. The staff were very helpful and kind. The restaurant chef was generous with portions and lemoncello. |

| "The castle was absolutely amazing. They have a bus stop out the front which will take you to Florence for 10 euro return in 50 mins. The dinner was fabulous, cooked by Fabio, it was personal, delicious and something to remember. The staff there are very friendly helpful and relaxed. The pool is lovely and as we stayed in the Cardinals rooms, our rooms were palatial" |

The castle was a great place to vacation with friends. The rooms were interesting and so different that anything else we could have chosen! Montegufoni is near enough to Florence that it was an easy day trip, and we were so glad to not be staying in the city! The views from the castle are amazing. I would definitely recommend staying here!
